Whether you or your child have a common gynecologic issue or a rare condition, our programs and clinics provide specialized care for kids, teens and even young adults. We work with experts from different specialties across Children’s Hospital Colorado to create programs and clinics for specific conditions and provide comprehensive gynecological care.

By having different experts come together and meet at one time, we can provide complete gynecological care that is convenient and effective. Our programs and clinics also provide a sense of community where other patients and their families can learn from the experiences of others and receive support and guidance from those who have gone through similar medical journeys.

The Spots and Dots Clinic

The Spots and Dots Clinic, also known as the Young Women’s Bleeding Clinic, provides care for adolescents and young adults with heavy menstrual bleeding, as well as blood and clotting conditions. This clinic includes specialists from gynecology and hematology. The Foundation of Women and Girls with Blood Disorders has recognized our Spots and Dots Clinic as a Clinical Excellence Program based on our team’s expertise and commitment to outstanding research.

Fertility Preservation and Reproductive Late Effects Program

The Fertility Preservation and Reproductive Late Effects Program helps adolescents and young adults who have had chemotherapy and radiation treatments with fertility preservation counseling and treatment, as well as reproductive healthcare. The multidisciplinary team includes pediatric, adolescent and young adult providers within our Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, as well as oncologists, internists and reproductive specialists from the Colorado Comprehensive Cancer Center and University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Clinic

In the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Clinic, we work with specialists in endocrinologydermatology, lifestyle medicine and psychology. As the only adolescent PCOS clinic in the Rocky Mountain region, we provide a place where our patients and their families can learn about PCOS in depth, as well as receive personalized care based on their treatment goals. The PCOS Clinic is also a center for research that enables us to study and provide the most effective care and prevent PCOS-associated medical conditions.

Chronic Pelvic Pain Clinic

In the Chronic Pelvic Pain Clinic, we collaborate with specialists in urology, anesthesiology, gastroenterologyphysical therapy and psychology to provide care for girls, teens and young adults with chronic pelvic pain.

eXtraordinarY Kids Turner Syndrome Clinic

The eXtraordinarY Kids Turner Syndrome Clinic is one of the nation’s foremost programs providing treatment for children and adolescents with Turner syndrome. Our experts use a unique multidisciplinary approach to address the medical, developmental and psychological needs of girls with Turner syndrome. Our clinic is designated as a Level 4 Regional Resource Center by the Turner Syndrome Global Alliance  and we follow the international Clinical Practice Guidelines for the best care for girls and women with Turner syndrome. Our care team includes specialists from endocrinology, genetics, cardiology, gynecology, neuropsychology and developmental and behavioral pediatrics.

Sexual Development Outcomes – Achieving Results (SOAR) Clinic

The  Sexual Development Outcomes – Achieving Results (SOAR) Clinic provides family-centered care for children, adolescents, young adults and families affected by a difference of sex development (DSD). Teens and children with DSDs and their families get care from our team of experts who specialize in DSDs and provide medical care and counseling all in one place.

The SOAR team includes pediatric specialists in urology, endocrinology, gynecology, psychology, genetics and nursing. We collaborate on comprehensive and individualized care encompassing initial evaluation, medical and surgical management, psychological counseling, support and education for families.

Collaborative partnerships

Many conditions affect multiple parts of the body, so we work with specialists from across the hospital to address every aspect of treatment. We work with other specialists to provide comprehensive treatment for gynecological conditions, but we also provide our expertise to other departments across the hospital.

Work with the Bariatric Surgery Center

The Bariatric Surgery Center at Children's Colorado takes a team approach to treating obesity, collaborating with experts from lifestyle medicine, pediatric surgery, endocrinology, nutrition and pediatric psychology. Our gynecology team is involved in the care of all female patients to address any menstrual or hormonal concerns. We also discuss and offer long-acting contraception to treat medical conditions such as heavy and painful periods, and to provide highly effective birth control after surgery.

Work with the International Center for Colorectal and Urogenital Care

The International Center for Colorectal and Urogenital Care at Children’s Colorado evaluates and treats children with colorectal and urogenital conditions. The Center supports patients and families through each stage of a child’s life and offers experts from all pediatric specialties including gynecology.

Work with the Special Care Clinic

The Special Care Clinic offers both primary care and consultation services to children with special healthcare needs, including children and adolescents with genetic disorders, developmental disabilities and complex chronic medical conditions. Our gynecology team provides consultation within the clinic for a wide range of concerns, including options for menstrual suppression.
