Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides structured, family-focused care to help stabilize serious emotional or behavioral health challenges so children and families can achieve long-term wellness.

Whether you are seeking extra support for your child’s well-being, navigating new or increasingly severe symptoms, or looking for the right step after an ER visit or inpatient stay, our team is here with you every step of the way.

What to expect

When you contact us, our experienced mental health care team will guide you through every step of the process to connect your child to the right level of care. Here’s what you can expect:

• Initial phone call: Our team will ask questions to learn more about your child’s strengths, challenges, safety and current mental health needs.
• Connect with a licensed clinician: We’ll schedule an in-person or virtual evaluation with our team to determine the best level of care for your child.
• Insurance support: We’ll work with your family to help verify insurance coverage and navigate payment options.
• Quick access to care: If our PHP is the right fit and we have availability, your child will likely begin care within one to two days following their evaluation, providing families with timely access to care.

Traveling from far away? 

Many families travel long distances to receive care at Children’s Colorado. We’re here to help ensure your family feels welcome and supported throughout your time here. Families who come from other states or stay with us for a long time often find comfort in temporary housing close to our hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. Ronald McDonald House Charities and Brent’s Place offer a home away from home for our families.
