Teen Undergoes First Deep Brain Stimulation at Children's Hospital Colorado

The Denver Post profiled 17-year-old Djimon Hill, who become the first deep brain stimulation surgery patient at Children’s Hospital Colorado’s new Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery Clinic, a part of the Neuroscience Institute.

Djimon has dystonia, a movement disorder that triggers twisting and abnormal movements and postures, and after a year of plateaued physical development and treatment options, Children's Colorado neurologist, Dr. Abbie Collins recommended Djimon undergo the procedure.
