Why choose Children’s Colorado?

At the NSC, our team of experts provides individualized, multidisciplinary care for children with special needs. In addition to our work with your child, we provide support and education for parents and caregivers, and we encourage school teams and community providers to participate regularly in your child’s treatment.

Who we serve

The NSC serves children and adolescents ages 4 to 17 years with a diagnosis of an intellectual or developmental disability who are experiencing a mental health or behavioral crisis.

Services we provide

If your child receives care on the NSC Unit, they will receive individual and group treatment using a systematic approach involving:

  • Innovative multi-modal treatment incorporating Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address behavioral and psychiatric concerns.
  • Medication management by our team of psychiatrists
  • Multi-family groups to provide support and skill-building opportunities for caregivers
  • Caregiver training and education to support the implementation of interventions across settings. These are scheduled with parents to improve generalization of outcomes.
