Surgical Specialties

The Center for Children’s Surgery at Children’s Hospital Colorado uses state-of-the-art technology and leading-edge surgical techniques to care for our patients. We take care of babies before they are born, infants, kids, teens and even young adults every day. Our surgeons are experts in pediatric care and are known for their excellent outcomes.

Why do kids need a pediatric surgeon?

Surgeons at Children’s Colorado went to school longer to learn how to care for kids that are still growing. All of the equipment that we use is kid-sized and our care teams explain complicated conditions and treatments in a way that is easy to understand.

What types of surgery are available at Children’s Colorado?

Our teams diagnose and treat every part of the body - from the top of a child’s head all the way to the tips of his or her toes and from the inside out.

Congenital Cardiac (Heart) Surgery

Congenital cardiac surgery, also known as pediatric heart surgery, is a surgical subspecialty that treats children and adults with congenital heart defects. The highly specialized team works closely with pediatric cardiology within the Heart Institute, which is one of the top heart programs in the country. We use the latest surgical options to give patients the best outcomes possible, which makes ours one of the best centers in the nation for pediatric heart surgery. Read about our surgical outcomes.
