My care philosophy
I am dedicated to providing the highest quality, most comprehensive, professional, compassionate and ethical care to my patients. I firmly believe that the patient and family should have an understanding of what is wrong with the heart, and so I take the extra time necessary to make sure that everyone has at least an understanding of what is wrong with the heart and what we are going to do to treat that problem. This often involves drawing the heart out in order to provide a visual representation. I aim to make sure there are no lingering questions for a patient or their family. I am one of the physicians that reads cardiac ultrasounds (echocardiogram), and believe that a meticulous attention to detail is important to provide accurate results and not miss a potential cardiac abnormality. I also specialize in using cutting-edge 3-dimensional echocardiography to diagnose and treat congenital heart disease. I also specialize in assessing pulmonary hypertension using echocardiography.
At Children's Hospital, we have an incredible team within in the Heart Institute, including a dedicated group that can treat children with complex congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, heart rhythm disorders, adults born with congenital heart disease, and heart failure, and have outstanding cardiac catheterization physicians and pediatric cardiovascular surgeons available, should the need arise. Given the impressive but large team, I am committed to helping patients navigate through the Heart Institute, should they need it.

For Patients:
My research interests are focused on how the heart functions in children with pulmonary hypertension. I also specialize in researching novel applications for 3-dimensional echocardiography.
For Referring Providers:
I am interested in echocardiographic evaluation of ventricular function in pediatric pulmonary hypertension. My primary research has been dedicated to evaluation of left ventricular systolic and diastolic function in pediatric pulmonary hypertension as a result of ventricular interdependence. I specialize in 3-dimensional echocardiography as well, and pursue research in the use of 3D echocardiopraphy in the cardiac catheterization laboratory and the electrophysiology suite.
