Here, it's safe. Normal life looks a lot different these days, especially in healthcare. But there is one thing that hasn’t changed at Children’s Colorado: Your child’s health and safety are our highest priority. Kids need great pediatric care as much now as ever, and it’s for that reason that we’re reactivating services we temporarily suspended due to the pandemic. We are here to deliver safe, thoughtful, high-quality care for kids who need it. Learn what to expect – and all the ways we’re keeping patients safe.
If you're concerned that you or your child may have been exposed to COVID-19, please do NOT visit an emergency or urgent care location. Instead, call your doctor or our free ParentSmart Healthline at 720-777-0123 for guidance.
In life-threatening emergencies, find the emergency room location nearest you. For non-life-threatening medical needs when your pediatrician is unavailable, visit one of our urgent care locations.
Safely donate blood and platelets during the coronavirus pandemic
Our Blood Donor Center needs your help. We are asking our community to help us ensure we can continue to meet the transfusion needs of our patients. If you're able to donate blood or platelets, please call 720-777-5398 to be screened over the phone and to schedule an appointment.
Colorado's safer-at-home order allows community members to leave home to provide lifesaving blood donations.
Keeping donors safe is our top priority
We're proactively taking precautions to prevent exposure to the coronavirus (COVID-19) such as: disinfecting all shared surfaces in between donors, screening all donors and technicians, spacing chairs 6 feet apart and providing food sealed in individual packages.
If you previously had a confirmed positive COVID-19 test and are fully recovered, antibodies in your blood may be helpful for patients facing critical illness due to COVID-19. We're now seeking convalescent plasma donors who meet the following eligibility criteria:
14 days symptom free (no cough, fever or shortness of breath)
Have proof of a confirmed positive COVID-19 test
Also meet the eligibility requirements to donate blood (listed below)
Blood donation does not cost money and requires little time. It does, however, make a big difference.
Children's Colorado has devoted volunteers who donate blood on a regular basis. Unfortunately, we can still run short during times of crisis or with children that have a very specific need. Help us maintain a steady supply of the wide range of blood products that kids need.
Directed blood donations are not accepted unless approved by a Transfusion Medicine Physician under rare circumstances, such as patients with extremely rare blood types. We still welcome your blood donation which will be made available to any child in need and helps to replace units transfused to our patients.
