Overview

In this study, we are trying to understand how levels of uric acid in the blood are related to the development of kidney disease in young men with type 2 diabetes. We will do this by measuring how your blood vessels and kidneys are working before and after an infusion of pegloticase. Pegloticase is a medication that completely reduces levels of uric acid in the blood, which may improve the health of the blood vessels and kidneys.
