Family Use Areas at Children's Hospital Colorado on Anschutz Medical Campus

Family Resource Center

When a child is in the hospital, it helps to have space to relax and recharge. Think of our Family Resource Center as a home away from home. Located on the second floor of our hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus, the Family Resource Center offers families a respite from the stress of their child’s medical experience. The space includes a kitchen, dining and relaxation area, laundry, TV, a business center, and private respite rooms with the amenities of home.

Respite areas and gardens

It is important for your own health and well-being to take an occasional moment away for solitude, reflection, prayer or meditation. Our 6.6 acre park-like campus offers several places to get a breath of fresh air.

The peaceful Garden of Hope, complete with a walking maze, is located just outside the Chapel on the first floor. There is a family courtyard located outside the cardiology waiting area on the third floor. The outdoor eating area just outside The Fresh Market Place cafeteria provides plenty of room for kids to run around.

In addition, there are quiet spaces at the end of every inpatient floor. Please feel free to step away, take a break and experience the beautiful views of our Colorado landscape.

The chapel

The chapel at Children's Colorado is for people of every faith who seek spiritual shelter, a place of prayer, meditation, reflection, or simply a place for a few quiet moments. The chapel is a sanctuary where patients, families and visitors can find solace, peace, comfort. The Chapel is located on the first floor of the hospital, east of the Boettcher Atrium and is always open for families, patients, volunteers and staff.

Exercise opportunities

Patients and their families can use the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center located near our hospital on Anschutz Medical Campus. Passes can be purchased for daily, weekly or monthly usage.

The next time you're stressed out or need a healthy distraction frim the hospital, try our weekly yoga class. A Creative Arts Therapist teaches free yoga every Wednesday from 11:30 to noon in our Seacrest Studios. The class is open to everyone (patients, siblings, parents, and visitors), and kids can participate both in the studio and by tuning into BBOY45 from their rooms.
