Nursing Magnet Status
The Magnet Nursing Services Recognition Program was established in 1993 to recognize healthcare organizations that provide the very best in nursing care and uphold the tradition within nursing that supports professional nursing practice. Independent studies of Magnet hospitals have shown that patients average a shorter length of stay and higher rate of satisfaction.
Children's first achieved Magnet designation in 2005 and is presently one of only eight Magnet-designated hospitals in the state. Children's joins the ranks of only three percent of U.S. hospitals that have achieved Magnet redesignation—a process considered even more rigorous than achieving initial designation.
