My care philosophy is to first and foremost be honest and forthright with information. I believe that it only in this way that parents and patients can make the best decisions about their care. I also try to engage both the family and the patient in the decision making process when it is possible and appropriate.

My clinical and laboratory interests are in the area of leukemia and in using the immune system to treat cancer, whether that be through bone marrow transplantation or cellular therapy.

My research studies are aimed at developing cellular therapy to reduce leukemia recurrence by enhancing immune recovery and by more effectively treating sites of leukemia (with a newly developed method of bone marrow irradiation).
