With more than 3,000 pediatric specialists and more than 5,000 full-time employees, Children's Colorado is home to a number of nationally and internationally recognized medical programs.

Kids get the best care in the nation at Children’s Colorado, because our care team is the best at what they do. Since U.S. News & World Report began ranking hospitals based on clinical data and reputation more than 20 years ago, we’ve consistently numbered among the best in the nation.

Once again, based on clinical data and reputation, U.S. News & World Report ranked us among the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the nation this year, with high marks in each of its 10 ranked specialties, including five in the top 10. It’s the natural result of delivering the best possible care for every child who walks through our doors.

5280 Magazine's Top Docs

5280 magazine has once again named more than 100 physicians at Children's Colorado to its annual "Top Docs" list. We're proud to say that in 2016, 106 Children's Hospital Colorado physicians made the list. The magazine surveys Denver-area doctors and asks them, specialty by specialty, which metro-area physicians they would trust to treat themselves and their families.

Nursing Magnet Status

The Magnet Nursing Services Recognition Program was established in 1993 to recognize healthcare organizations that provide the very best in nursing care and uphold the tradition within nursing that supports professional nursing practice. Independent studies of Magnet hospitals have shown that patients average a shorter length of stay and higher rate of satisfaction.

Children’s Colorado received our third Magnet recognition in 2015, and we are presently one of only eight Magnet recognized hospitals in the state. We were initially designated a Magnet hospital in 2005, and were recognized again in 2011. Hospitals must reapply for Magnet recognition every four years based on adherence to Magnet concepts and demonstrated improvements in patient care and quality.

American Hospital Association-McKesson Quest for Quality

Children’s Hospital Colorado was recently named the winner of the 2015 American Hospital Association-McKesson Quest for Quality Award. Children’s Colorado is only the second children’s hospital to win the award in its 14-year history. The award recognizes hospitals for their commitment to making six quality aims a reality: safety, patient-centeredness, effectiveness, efficiency, timeliness and equity.

The Quest for Quality judges were impressed by Children’s Colorado’s commitment to high quality, safe patient care in every department, both clinical and non-clinical.

Most Wired Award Logo for HealthCare's most wired winner in 2017

For the fifth year in a row, Children's Colorado has been recognized as one of the nation's Most Wired hospitals according to the 2017 Most Wired Survey released in the July issue of Hospitals & Health Networks magazine.

Children's Colorado has once again been recognized by Parents magazine as one of the top children's hospitals inLogo for 2013 Parents Magazine 10 best children's hospitals. the nation in its survey of the "10 Best Children's Hospitals." The results ranked Children's Colorado as No. 5 for overall care and as the highest scoring children's hospital for "Family Friendliness."

Parents also ranked the Top 10 children's hospitals in six specialties. Four Children's Colorado specialties ranked in the Top 10: Heart Care, No. 6; Cancer Care, No. 7; Emergency Care, No. 9; and Pulmonary Care, No. 10.

American Heart Association Workplace Health Achievement Index

Companies recognized by the American Heart Association' meet criteria for implementing quality employee health programs in a workplace environment. Practice Greenhealth Partner for Change Award

The 2017 Greenhealth Partner for Change Award recognizes healthcare facilities that have implemented a significant number of environmental programs, and continuously improve and expand upon these programs on the path to sustainability. Children’s Colorado recognizes sustainability as a means to practice the Hippocratic Oath — to heal and do no harm — through safer products, reduced air emissions, elimination of toxins, safer working environments, less waste and efficient use of energy and water.

Colorado Patient Safety Coalition's Outstanding Culture of Patient Safety Achievement Award

Children's Colorado was recognized for our comprehensive patient safety program, including our Great Catch award program, post event review process, real-time reporting system, patient safety rounds and The Patient Safety Committee (leadership structure).
