Naproxen (Aleve)

You can take naproxen if you have pain.

Dose:

  • Aleve: Take 1 pill (220 mg) every 8-12 hours. Each pill has 220 mg of naproxen.
  • You may take 2 pills (440 mg) for your first dose.
  • Do not take more than 3 pills per day.
  • In some cases your doctor may recommend a different or higher dose.

Extra Notes and Warnings:

  • This is an over-the-counter (OTC) drug. You can buy it at the drugstore.
  • Do not take this drug if you are pregnant.
  • Do not take this drug if you have stomach problems or kidney disease.
  • Do not take this drug if your doctor has told you to avoid it.
  • Do not take naproxen for more than 7 days without checking with your doctor.
