Here, it's different.TM

This is an extraordinary place. There's magic in our energy, our spaces, our people and our discoveries. There's even magic in our motivation: to eradicate childhood disease, so that one day, like magic, children will no longer need us.

Why different matters

Markus' story

A bump on Markus' knee was more than just a sign of 12-year-old boyhood. It was cancer. And with it came a question: Would he ever run again? Markus had the fight in him. And only we had the team of experts to back him up.

Children's Hospital Colorado, made completely of LEGO.

Building up strength

With a generous donation and some help from LEGO master builder Dan Steininger, we created a 100,000-piece replica of our hospital to greet kids as they entered the second floor—which has become a permanent attraction at our Anschutz Medical Campus location.

The healing power of pets

The Prescription Pets program gives kids a chance to visit with specially trained animals right here in the hospital. Our 44 four-legged volunteers help kids take their minds off their conditions—because sometimes laughter really is the best medicine.

Teaming up for kids

The Denver Broncos agree that nothing beats being cheered on by your biggest fans. So they return the favor with surprise visits, pep rallies, touchdown shout-outs and one-on-one interviews with the kids at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Riding in little red wagons

Why walk when you can ride in a little red wagon? Our signature red wagons were designed just for kids and can act as an alternative to wheelchairs. So you can take your child to appointments and activities, along with their IV, toys and everything else.
