The urology care team in the Department of Pediatric Urology at Children’s Hospital Colorado includes board-certified pediatric urologists, a certified pediatric nurse practitioner, a physician assistant, a clinical psychologist, urology residents, pediatric urology fellows and registered nurses.
Care team members
- Pediatric urologists: Our board-certified pediatric urologists are doctors with many years of experience in all aspects of childhood urology. They are experts in hydronephrosis, stone disease, genital reconstruction, urological reconstruction and minimally invasive surgery.
- Pediatric nurse practitioner and physician assistant: Our certified advanced practice providers help treat children who have problems with voiding (holding and releasing urine).
- Clinical psychologist: Our clinical psychologist helps children cope with emotional reactions to urologic anomalies and surgical procedures. Additionally, the clinical psychologist develops behavioral strategies to manage wetting conditions and helps children adhere to treatment plans.
- Nurses: Members of our nursing staff are certified registered nurses and have won awards in the extraordinary care of and compassion for children.
