More than 90 providers and 400 dedicated Heart Institute team members work together to deliver expert, compassionate care for those with heart conditions, from before they’re born, into adulthood. We have more than 20,000 visits to our Heart Institute every year, which means we see more and treat more kids than anyone in our region. And our specialized programs and clinics bring whole teams together to provide comprehensive care, all in one place.

Lifelong care, from before birth to adulthood
Our Fetal Cardiology Program is ready to provide excellent heart care for babies born with congenital heart disease as soon as they enter the world. Our Colorado Fetal Care Center is just steps from our pediatric cardiac ICU, ensuring immediate access to heart specialists and surgeons. As your child grows, we develop a long-term plan to help them live their best life. Our nationally recognized Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program even ensures they thrive well into adulthood.

Cardiac-specific anesthesia services
Children born with heart disease often have complex anatomy and physiology, which is why our cardiac team includes specialists in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology. Our specially trained anesthesiologists are dedicated to providing the best care possible to kids in the Heart Institute.
Keeping kids safer during imaging
Some approaches to imaging can expose kids to radiation, and while this is sometimes necessary, we work hard to employ advanced techniques, such as 4D imaging, to minimize exposure when possible. Not only is this imaging better for diagnostic purposes, it's safer.
Care that lasts a lifetime
Congenital heart conditions last a lifetime, so care for them should too. Here, we ensure patients get consistent care into adulthood through our Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program. We also work with teens and adolescents to ensure the transition is as easy and comfortable as possible.

Mandie Lynn’s minimally invasive care
Born 15 weeks early, Mandie Lynn was one of the tiniest patients to receive cardiac catheterization, a minimally invasive procedure doctors used to treat her patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). This condition used to require open heart surgery, but the new technique had Mandie Lynn’s PDA patched up in just 30 minutes.
Juniper’s story
Just weeks into her life, Juniper was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition that would be fatal without transplant. With the help of a Berlin Heart device that pumped blood around her tiny body, she spent six months living at Children’s Colorado before finally getting her new heart.
