Sports Medicine Community Partnerships

At Children’s Hospital Colorado, we educate athletes, parents and coaches on proper training, nutrition and recovery for young athletes through their early twenties. When the unexpected injury happens, our specially trained team maximizes recovery in growing athletes.

"Our partnership with Children’s Hospital Colorado has been more than we had originally anticipated. Through the relationship, Gregg Brueck, our ATC from Children's Hospital Colorado, has been instrumental in bringing awareness, focus and professionalism to how we think about total development and care for our young athletes. Children’s Colorado has become part of our culture at Real Colorado and we look forward to continuing this relationship for many more years." - Chief Operating Officer Jared Spires, Real Colorado Soccer

Why partner with the sports medicine team at Children’s Colorado?

Customized care for growing athletes

Our board-certified sports medicine experts only see young athletes, meaning they specialize in working with school-aged athletes and understand how young athletes are different from adults. Plus, Children’s Colorado is one of the only truly integrated pediatric orthopedics, orthopedic surgery, sports medicine and rehabilitation medicine programs in the country. This is important because treating orthopedic conditions requires collaboration and care from all types of pediatric movement specialists.

Experts treat sports-related conditions

In partnership with other top specialists at Children’s Colorado, we are always developing new programs for sports-related conditions. For example, our team partners with pediatric pulmonologists from the Breathing Institute as part of a new sports asthma program.

Cutting-edge facilities, technology and research

Our program offers pediatric-specific facilities and technology, including x-ray and MRI machines, operating rooms and dedicated sports therapy gyms for young athletes. Through the Center for Gait and Movement Analysis , we offer unique research opportunities, including studies on how 3D motion capture may be used to help optimize sports performance.

Community involvement and support

Outside of the clinic, experts from the Sports Medicine Center program also provide community-based support by staffing certified athletic trainers at high schools and sports clubs.

Our partnerships

Children’s Hospital Colorado is proud to partner with a variety of Colorado youth sports leagues and teams to provide care and educate athletes, parents and coaches on specific needs of the growing athlete.
